Morrison ‘Capitulated to the Pressure’ of Journalist Activists

Australian News

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has capitulated to the pressure of “journalist activists” and is now “barely treading water,” says Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton.

Mr Houghton discussed “systemic issues within the Australian media environment” and assessed the recent speeches delivered by Grace Tame and Brittany Higgins at the National Press Club this week.

In their addresses, the two called for greater action on sex-based violence and slammed politicians’ “weasel words” in response to last year’s sweeping movement.

“I don’t even mind that both Grace Tame and Brittany Higgins are clearly politically pointed in their criticisms,” Mr Houghton said.
