Pubs ‘Happy to Continue Working’ with Vaccine Certs – LVA

The head of the Licensed Vintners Association (LVA) says his group is ‘perfectly happy’ to continue to use vaccination certificates.

Donall O’Keeffe was speaking as the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) meets to consider its advice on this Friday’s planned re-opening.

Almost all restrictions are due to be eased later this week – however, a recent rise in case numbers has led to concerns some will remain in place.

The key issues under consideration are the re-opening of nightclubs, the continued use of COVID-19 Certs in bars and restaurants and a return to normal opening hours.

On Newstalk Breakfast Mr O’Keeffe questioned if a national vaccine rate of 92% is not good enough, then what would be.

“We have 92% of the adult population vaccinated, we are working with COVID Certs that limit indoor hospitality to those that are fully vaccinated.
